What comprise our values?

Every action expresses a set of values. Our values express our identity, our very selfhood. Values, like DNA or parents, do not change. With experience, our values may grow richer, deeper, and more resonant. Great philosophers and prophets consider this “good work.”

Otherwise well-intentioned human beings try to align their actions with their values. This generally does not work well, i.e., it puts the cart before the horse.

We really, really thought about our values and found that our core values operate like breathing and the beating of hearts: Alignment feels pleasurable and comes with the experience of elation, enthusiasm, and fascination with how it’s all unfolding before us. Misalignment feels bad, resulting in annoyance and confusion.

So of all the things that we could do, we choose the one thing that evokes within us elation, enthusiasm, and fascination. Simple. Productive. Quite profitable.

And while some may question our values, we have found doing stuff that’s not fun with angry, fussy or confused people never produced a sustainable profit. Not only does misalignment of one’s values feel bad, it just does not pay. God only knows, we tried.

One last point: We have never, ever experienced, read, or heard about a successful argument about conflicting values. We either share preexisting values or we do not. So if upon reading our values below and you find yourself annoyed or in disagreement, please go and bother someone else.

Declaration
We declare the following as our core, manifested values, stating them in the first-person singular because integrity comes into the world by an individual choice and action:

Leadership
As leaders in our particular sphere of accountability and contribution:

• I respond to the world and the people around me in a graceful, elegant, and proactive way.
• I take small steps every day to that unleash the energy of my life’s work and dreams.
• I take the path of greatest ease and inspiration, letting creativity and energy build into its own force of nature and riding it cresting wave.

Intelligence
As individuals and teams, we work smart and short hours with lots of time to loaf around and think about interesting things. This means that in each day,

• I do the strategic work of building our brand-franchise platform, systematizing, quantifying, orchestrating, and optimizing some aspect of our business.
• I build elegant, powerful systems, using simplicity and inspired knowledge each step of the way.
• I use systems and documented procedures to create freedom and choice: my definition of smart work.

Trust
GISTICS earns and keeps the trust of hundreds of clients and tens of thousands of subscribers. This means the following:

• I serve our clients and our clients serve us, reinforcing a virtuous circle of mutual service, benefit, and satisfaction.
• I listen for complaints and frustration from our clients and their customers, transforming these complaints into opportunities for new satisfactions.
• I contribute my passion, creativity, strengths, and good standing in social networks to the mutual success of our members, clients, and partners.

Collaboration
As individuals and teams, we continue to grow and evolve, incorporating new insights, goals, and criteria as well as the adding refinements to our previous insights, goals and criteria. This means the following:

• I appreciate rhythm of my personal experience as vehicles of self-recognition, creative expression, and service.
• I delegate accountabilities to team members and project partners in responsible ways, using systems to manage both the result and ways for producing the desired result.
• I experience my team members, clients, and partners in an uplifting, honest, and supportive way.
